Want real international draughts in the browser - not English checkers on an 8x8 board? International Draughts is a Chrome extension built for offline 10x10 play: 20 men per side, flying kings, and mandatory majority capture. Open it from the toolbar popup or a side panel, pick a bot level, and start a game without creating an account.

What International Draughts offers
International draughts (also called international checkers or Polish draughts) uses a 10x10 board. Each side starts with 20 men. Kings are "flying" - they can move and capture any distance along a diagonal when the path is clear. Captures are mandatory, and when several capture sequences exist you must take the one that captures the most pieces (majority capture).
The extension packages that ruleset for Chrome so you can train or play casually offline. No signup wall, no cloud matchmaking requirement - just you, the board, and a tunable computer opponent.
Key features
- True 10x10 international rules: 20 men per side, flying kings, and mandatory majority capture.
- Offline play: works without an account and without needing a constant connection once installed.
- Bot levels 1-100: roughly ~400 to ~2200 Elo so beginners and strong club players can both find a useful challenge.
- Board themes: Teal Soft, Green Felt, and Blue Ice for a clean look that matches your mood.
- Popup or side panel: keep a quick game in the toolbar popup or pin a wider board in Chrome's side panel.
Why 10x10 rules feel different
If you grew up on English draughts (American checkers), international play will feel deeper. The larger board opens longer diagonals. Flying kings turn late-game races into sharp calculation. Majority capture forces you to count sequences carefully instead of grabbing the first jump you see.
That makes International Draughts useful as a practice board: start on lower bot levels to learn piece values and forcing captures, then climb toward higher Elo settings when tactics feel automatic.
Themes and how you play in Chrome
Visual comfort matters when you play several short sessions a day. Teal Soft gives a modern mint-and-cream look, Green Felt nods to classic table felt, and Blue Ice cools the palette for longer focus sessions. Switch themes without leaving the game UI.
Because the game runs as a Chrome extension, you can keep a tab-free match nearby while you work. Use the popup for a compact board, or open the side panel when you want more room to see captures and king paths.
Who should install it
- Players who specifically want international / 10x10 draughts, not English 8x8 checkers.
- Anyone who prefers offline practice without accounts, lobbies, or ads-heavy web boards.
- Learners who want a wide difficulty ladder (levels 1-100) inside Chrome.
